(Elvira now Ellie) She made the long journey from Oklahoma to her happily-ever-after.

We changed her name to Ellie, Elvira seemed too formal. She’s responding very well to Ellie.

It took her a good month to adjust, and she still is adjusting in some respects, but she’s got her running route in the house down pat – changes it once in a while when really excited. She definitely does not like snow or cold but has really done well with potty pads. No behavior concerns. We have a “bench” at the end of our bed with cushion on it. The first night here, we said, “Bedtime Ellie” and she ran into the bedroom, jumped up on the bench and then onto the bed and crawled under the covers and promptly went to sleep. She slept all night and woke us up in the morning to let her outside (it was still warmer then). Now she cuddles in by my legs under the covers.

No medical concerns other than being a bit overweight. Our Vet has seen her twice because of something we were concerned about, but it turned out to be moot. For a while we thought she had a loose connection to her tail – it just wouldn’t quit wagging!!!!!! Lol

She has good eating habits. She definitely tries to share my plate but isn’t allowed to. We know people food isn’t good for dogs and want to avoid upset tummy and being sick. After about a month, we found she loves Beggin’ Strips. She gets a treat after breakfast and before bed.

The only other thing that makes me rather sad is that she doesn’t know how to play, we bought her 3 toys, two were squeaky cloth type and the third was a twisted length of rope with knots at the end. She just ignores them when we try to play with her, maybe in time.

We are so happy with her! I think she’s happy here, too. Thank you all for your assistance in helping us complete our family and sending Ellie to her forever home!
