BookBuddies

Book Buddies is a program designed to help our shelter animals become more adoptable through social interaction with children. Reading to the animal calms and comforts them. It also helps children improve their own reading skills. Prizes are available!

Who: Children ages 6-15 *Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult *Children age 14 and older may stay up to 2 hours without adult supervision *Participants are asked to complete an orientation prior to starting the program. 

Where: HSL Shelter 19665 US Hwy 59 Detroit Lakes MN

When: Tuesday through Friday 12PM – 6PM , Saturday 11AM – 4PM
